Mrs L L Ballew Arthur and Mrs W M Tubbs and children attended church conference. Mrs Oscar Hyder visited Mrs Otto Bahlman Saturday afternoon. The P T A met at Oak Creek Sunday night March 19. Mr and Mrs J M Vaughan shopped in Ballinger Saturday. C J W Stewart visited his brother C C Stewart in Anson Sunday. A J Dudley and J W Stewart went to Ballinger on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs G D Luckett and children went to Winters and Ballinger Saturday.
Informant reports a stray fawn colored jersey heifer dehorned with no brand in Oak Creek pasture for about five months. Owner can claim by proving ownership and paying reasonable feed and pasturage charges. Contact Jim McKown Rt. 2 Bronte Texas.
The Friday and Saturday lineup features Buck Jones in Ride Em Cowboy with Comedy and Phantom Rider Chapter 3. A Tuesday March 30 Bank Night presents Jane Wyatt and nous Hayward in Luckiest Girl in the World plus a Turkey Dinner Comedy.
Norton High School dominates with 154 points to win the Runnels County Class B title including girls extempore speech ready writing and multiple track wins. Ballinger Junior High School is runner up with 71 points as Crews places third. Paint Rock hosts a debate where Miss Jessie Gulley and Miss Jean Mitchell argue the munition monopoly.
The junior class will present their second play at 7 30 on Friday May 26. The production titled Wild Oats promises student actors performances and a light entertainment program for the school community.
Jean Mitchell, a Norton student living across from the school ground, starred in senior tennis doubles with Edna Compton and helped win county debating championships with Jessie Gulley. She also participated in the high school choral club and is described as amiable and vivacious. Bill Morgan, the campus clown, is amusing with quirky table ideas and a shyly described alias.
Rev and Mrs J H Thompson spent a brief trip in Austin with their son, traveling down Wednesday and returning today.
