A sparse notice dated March 1 1918 at Bronte Texas cites action under a Congress act of August 12 1871. The fragmentary record indicates official postal proceedings but lacks full details or names.
The Methodist Ladies Missionary Society met at Mrs. We. AV. Youngbrrd’s home with Mrs. Austin Jordan and Mrs. Lee Huckabee presenting December program. Eight members attended and coffee with cookies were served. No meetings until the second Monday in January.
Blackwell postmaster Mrs Maurine Steuart joins the U S Postal Department in urging early mailing of Christmas packages to ease year end delays. Guidelines include wrapping, marking fragile items, using special delivery for perishables, clear addresses, and class mailing for greeting cards.
