Benediction for a Benefactor and Pioneer of Texas
The article mourns W. H. Rutherford a longtime benefactor who helped the narrator and others, sharing faith and material aid. Born 1857 in Sweetwater Tennessee, he moved to Texas in 1877, lived in Dallas and Rockwood, built a farm home, and left 34 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral at the Baptist church in Coleman County honored his memory with simple, moving rites. Deceased’s family expresses deep gratitude to Maverick Norton Bronte Ballinger and others for support and meals provided.
