Euterpeans Meet and Christmas observances noted
The Euterpeans gathered at Mrs. W. C. Sharmblin’s home with co hostess Mrs. Richard Copeland for a Sacred Program led by Mrs. Leroy Stone. Roll call cited favorite Bible verses followed by a business session and choral practice. A sketch The Christ Child featured Mrs. Arnolds Richards and a vocal solo I m A Pilgrim was sung by Mrs. Oxford Raney. Biblical poem Selected Mrs. Joe Oden and stories of Hymn origins including Silent Night Away in a Manger were presented by Mrs. Joe Smith. After the program a Christmas tree and salad course were served to numerous attendees including Mrs. I. T. Ituckabee, Mrs. Joe Smith and several others. Visiting relatives Mr. and Mrs. Noble Whitaker and son Noble Dean from Heath Montana reported ice and snow. Mary Frances Russell visiting from McMurry at Abilene during Christmas holidays. Mrs. Sama Raney of near Sweetwater died Monday night and burial followed Tuesday at Blackwell cemetery. she was formerly Ella Morrell. Joe Smith plans to drill a water well at the Blackwell cemetery, a long awaited project.
