Bronte Officials Praised for Water System Upgrades

State health engineer M Ebl ers writes Sept 17 letter to Mayor H Whitt praising Bronte for water system improvements including a chlorination machine and planned plant upgrades. District Engineer R H Weiss reports sanitary survey confirms disinfection efforts and public health focus. The Enterprise joins in congratulating Mayor Whitt and Water Commissioner C R Smith.

Mrs Hayley Enjoying Oregon Visit Up North

Mrs R L Hayley of Bronte writes from Oregon where she visited her son Davis and the Jack Morrisons now in Coos Bay. She describes scenic sights and a trip by plane from Salt Lake City to Portland and bus to Coos Bay noting timber mills near the ocean and logs being tumbled into the bay before sawing. She signs off asking Jack to hurry back.

Ernest Moore of Truscott arrived last Saturday for a short visit with friends and relatives. He is the brother of Walter Moore of Port Chadbourne and is associated with Mrs. Moore in a mathematical routine related to their visit.

Blackwell WSCS and clubs host meetings and events

The WSCS met at Mrs. Dabney’s home with Mrs. C. B. Smith in charge. reports from Colorado City meeting. prayers and discussions on The Portrait of Pilgrim. an ice course served to a large guest list. Also notes on 4-H Roundup events at College Station, honors for Dona Hendry, a tea hosted by Blackwell HID Club, and a long guest list for the gatherings.

Blackwell Students Head to Texas Colleges for Fall Terms

Blackwell residents report a wave of prep underway as students and parents finalize plans. John Tarleton welcomes freshman Bobby Spence while Sul Ross opens for Joe Weddle and Carol Wilkes, with Bill Hamilton and Clarence Smith also listed as students. Hardin-Simmons includes junior Jack Youree majoring in psychology. McMurry College lists Betty Sanderson and Pam Sanderson, both daughters of local families, with Pam leading the college bookstore post office department.
