Preacher to Lead 11 A.M. Service at Maverick Baptist Church
Rev. John Early of San Angelo will preach at 11 a.m. Sunday at Maverick Baptist Church. Visiting Sunday were the Dean Burk family from San Angelo, including Jerry Burk and their daughter April who stayed overnight. Sunday night visitors were L J Sonnenberg of Tennyson.

Local families attend Fat Stock Show and church visits
Last weekend Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ogilvy and others attended the San Angelo Fat Stock Show and Rodeo. The Hollands visited church at Miles Baptist Church and called on the Lowdons. Visitors included Cap Holland Michele from San Angelo and Otis Sandlin from Abilene. Mrs. Marie Allen recovering from a fall stayed with James and Barbara Holland. A warm rain fell Tuesday, benefiting oat and wheat fields and pastures.

The after school Bible Group met with 15 children and three teachers. Second Saturday night singing drew 22 attendees at Blackwell School auditorium. Father Daughter Banquet planned at Bronte Community Center with Girl Scouts and Brownies participating. Youth Led Revival at First Baptist Church praised. evangelist Tyson Van Dyke of Las Vegas led services with Lar ry Riney on organ and Shirley Mitchell as song leader. Local church trips include a visit to Albuquerque for Billy Graham Crusade. Abilene youths from Hardin-Simmons to lead Sunday services at First Baptist. Community members visited relatives in Sweetwater and Brady. nursing home updates for Mrs. George Russell and Mrs. Lea Gaston. Veterans Hospital patients A. O. White and Orval White noted. Rattlesnake Roundup attended by Johnny Chew and LeRoy Chew. Bicentennial Public Schools Week program held March 6 at Blackwell School with student papers and patriotic songs led by multiple staff.
