Flanagan Receives 20 Year Service Award
R L Flanagan a local game warden was honored with a 20 year service pin by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission in Austin on Friday Feb 28 Pierce Johnson chaired the ceremony with Executive Director Clayton Garrison. Flanagan began as a game warden in Burnet County in 1954 and later served in Edinburg Burnet Ballinger Robert Lee and Lake Buchanan before 1962 born and raised in Comanche County he and wife Evelyn raise two daughters Renea and Margaret and a son Randy in Odessa with one grandson John Richard Lehr.

The Texas Highway Commission let February contracts for Coke and surrounding counties. Strain Brothers Inc. of San Angelo won the $701,868.96 bid for seal coating 152.8 miles, under James R. Evans. Work spans Coke Concho Crockett Kimble Menard Reagan Runnels Schleicher Tom Green with 75 days of construction.
