Nike Ajax units renamed under Combat Arms Regimental System
Six Nike missile battalions of the 56th Artillery Brigade shift to the Combat Arms Regimental System to preserve historic artillery lineages. In Bristol the 739th AAA Battalion becomes the 4th Missile Battalion Nike Ajax, and the 751st at Coventry Rhode Island becomes the 4th Missile Battalion Nike Ajax 8th Artillery, with other battalions similarly renamed as Nike Ajax becomes Nike Hercules. Army officials say personnel and unit composition remain unchanged.
