The Boston Symphony Orchestra under Music Director Charles Munch opens its 76th season in Providence at Veterans Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday November 4 at 8:15 p.m. Guest conductors Pierre Monteux and Ferenc Fricsay will lead, Fricsay making his Providence debut. Rudolf Serkin will be soloist on one concert. five Tuesday programs run Nov 4 25 Dec 20 Jan 27 and Apr 14. Season tickets at Avery Piano Company.

A fall Mothers Club meeting named Mrs Paul Castigliego as card party chairman for October. The Yankee Village Bazaar planning group from First Congregational Church met at Mrs L Rich ard Tilden’s home for November 8 arrangements. The Rev Albert E Hutchison later joined the meeting.
