Auto Driver Loses Control Hits Parked Car
Matthew Ciocola of 48 Second Street, driving east on East State Street Saturday evening, lost control after hitting road ruts. The car swerved toward a reservoir, struck another rut, and turned left into a parked vehicle owned by Manuel Santos on East State Street. Santos’ car had a smashed fender and a broken left front wheel. Ciocola’s car sustained slight damage.

Excelsior Tennis Club captures Bancroft Cup leg on home courts
Excelsior Tennis Club of the Duset League won the first Bancroft Cup leg by defeating Fall River three matches to two on local courts. Key results include Boynton defeating Herbert Smith in singles 6-4 0-6 11-9 and Boynton-Nelson pairing beating Roger Buck and Smith 6-4 6-4. The club’s trio of wins came from two singles and one doubles match.
