Citizens faced a tough school bond vote amid tax bill timing and new Licht Tax concerns. Town Council offered little backing while Planning Board members led discussions as residents awaited state reports and payments connected to the tax. The outcome reflected tax resistance and limited official support.
Orlando J. Bisbane will be sworn in as Bristol's Town Clerk in a ceremony at the new Court Street town office. Attorney General Herbert F. DeSimone will perform the swearing in around 12 noon with the public invited. A new Rogers Free Library Schedule A takes effect Monday September 15, with the adult library hours 1 30 to 9 pm weekdays and 1 30 to pm Saturday.
