The Civilian Conservation Corps has drawn many Bristol youths who could not find private work. It trained them in camp administration, sanitation, road and bridge building, and education. In six years the CCC planted trees, built trails and roads, improved forests, reduced fire hazards, and supported families with wages totaling over 300 million dollars.
