Bristol Community Band Plans First Grand Fair

The Bristol Community Band led by Ferdinand lastello organizes a fair at Academy Hall Wood Street on Nov 10 and 17 to raise funds for its youth orchestra. A 38 member group with added horn and bass drum will perform while a citizens committee gathers donations and prizes for booths and dancing.

Teenager Charged After Collision With State Trooper

John Valante aged about 17 of 5 Usher Street was arrested by Corp Poole on a charge of operating an automobile without a license after his vehicle collided with a State Police car at Wood and Church streets. Valante, arraigned Wednesday, posted bail for the Fifth District Court session.

Rallies Highlight Rhode Island Political Fight

Last night at the Pastime Theatre the Republican rally featured Governor Norman S Case Judge Felix Hebert and Hon Clark Burdick among speakers. Bristol bidder awarded Beaver Tail Light road contract

The State Board of Public Roads awarded the Beaver Tail Light road contract in Jamestown Conanicut Island to Callan Construction Company for 89501.20 dollars. The Callan bid was higher than the lowest bidder Watkins Brothers of New Bedford who offered 87377.30 dollars, 223.90 less than Callan.
