Thieves Target Bristol Neck Home Again

Bristol Native Becomes Bishop of San Joaquin Diocese
Rev Louis C Sanford of California has been named Bishop of the Episcopal diocese of San Joaquin. Born in Bristol 44 years ago, he is a graduate of Brown University 1888 and Episcopal Theological School 1892. He has served in California parishes and as Secretary of the Eighth Missionary District, including Alaska and the Philippines. He was married twice, first to Miss Annis Pepper of Bristol, who died in 1896, and has three children with his second wife.

Funeral of Bernard Riley Held at St Marys Church
Funeral services for Bernard Riley were held Saturday morning at 8 80 from his Gooding Avenue residence with a 9 o’clock Te Deum Mass celebrated by Rev John F Downing at St Marys Church. A large attendance and many floral tributes marked the rites. Bearers were Patrick P Walsh Neil B Sharkey Edward Quinn and Michael Malone. Interment followed at St Marys Cemetery.
