The town council received two additional damage claims from the Bristol fireworks plant explosion case, listing Vincinza Puya of Wheeler Avenue for 181.80 and Domenic Bisbano of Mason Avenue for 569.87. Charles M Morgan announces a benefit concert in Colt Memorial High School auditorium for the Florida disaster fund. William Hobbs superintendent will direct with Mrs Hobbs as pianist. The program features vocal and instrumental solos duets quartets and a 40 voice mixed chorus. Proceeds go to the disaster fund. A rehearsal occurred at 7 30 PM at Holmes House.
Angus McVarish of 1 Constitution street, a ship carpenter at Herreshoff Manufacturing Company boat shops, fell 15 feet from a gallery on Tuesday morning. He sustained two cracked ribs and was taken by Colt Memorial ambulance to Dr Alfred M Merriman's office for X rays before being returned home.
The first campaign rally will be held at 7 30 o clock Sunday evening in Italian Hall Wood Street. Speakers include Col H Ant(h)ons Dyer Assistant Attorney General Louis V Jackvony Ling Cippola Grand Master of the Sons of Italy of Rhode Island and George Locke Howé Republican nominee for Representative from the First District in this town. An orchestra will provide music.
Reba Rebekah Degree Lodge No 12 held an installation in Odd Fellows Hall with District Deputy President Mrs Virginia Tobey of Warren and Grand Assembly officers presiding. New officers named include Noble Grand Mrs Metta A Williston and Past Noble Grand Mrs Maud McGann, with numerous assistants and committees appointed. Celestia Lodge of Warren guests attended and a supper followed in the banquet hall.
Rex Albert C Larned pastor of St Davids MesHanticut will depart Cranston next Tuesday to accept St Margarets Church Brighton Massachusetts. His last services at St Davids are next Sunday. He has served as Episcopal chaplain at state institutions and was active in criminal reform. He is the first resident pastor of the church and helped secure the current rectory. He has long been involved with the Surprise Woolhouse Post Veterans of Foreign Wars and led Rhode Island as a department chaplain. He traces ancestry to Governor Cranstons name city. He came from All Saints Cathedral Albania and served on USS Georgia and the Sixth Regiment USMC in World War I. Born in Providence, educated in England, he has also led St Peters Guernsey England St Marks Newport Vermont and St Saviours Bar Harbor Maine. He was St Michaels town curate from 1901 to 1913.
Daniel H Quinn 21 of 46 Munroe Avenue and Alfred Larue Jr 35 of 554 Thames Street were arrested for breaking and entering at night and stealing two cases of shoes valued at 44.16 from National India Rubber Company on Franklin Street. One case was dropped on Wood Street. the other found at Larue's Thames Street home. They were arraigned before Justice Philip Brady and bail set at 1000 each.
More than 150 people attended the annual harvest supper at G A R Hall in Kearney hosted by American Legion Auxiliary Unit No 6. Mrs Ella S Paull led as general chair with help from Executive and Social Committees. tables were decorated with autumn flowers and candles.
