Sister Bento Named New Superior at St Elizabeth's

Sister Virginia Bento a native of this town arrived to assume duties as Superior of St Elizabeth's School replacing Mother Cranshoff who left Sunday. She previously spent 11 years on Staten Island and 15 years in New Bedford where Cranshoff served six years. She helped found the New Bedford school. She has a brother Manuel and two sisters Mrs Albina Castro and Mrs Jovina Silvia living here.

11 Year-Old Boy Nabbed in Cedar Crest Break-Ins

An 11 year old admitted to a year of breaking into 19 Cedar Crest and Slocum area homes with 30 entries and 15 attempted breaks. He stole 2425 dollars and a 90 dollar diamond ring, entered mainly via unlocked first floor basement windows, and was found with 1.50. Police say many victims didn’t notice the entry. several items damaged or discarded. He was apprehended Saturday night on Everett Avenue and released to parents while investigation continues.

General Perry A West Point graduate military career outline

General Perry, a 1917 West Point graduate, served in World War I with the First Infantry Division and Battery F, 7th Field Artillery.
