Armistice Day plans and Legion meeting notices

Post and Auxiliary of the American Legion in Grand Army Hall held semi monthly meetings. Delegations were planned for Manville. A traveling cup was presented to Alphonse Yelle. Merchants were urged to close on Armistice Day. The Auxiliary will join the Armistice Day parade and send a delegation to Manville. An Armistice Day fair in Warren was announced, with a Rhode Island Hospital visit and a Harvest Supper prepared for Oct 20. An auditing committee was named.

Berean Class and Groups Schedule Meetups

Berean Class members gather tonight at Mrs Charles Luther Griswold home on Griswold Avenue. The GG Group plans Thursday afternoon at Mrs Charles Tascomb Burton Street. The WG Group hosts a Friday food sale 2 to 6 PM in the west. The Friday prayer meeting will be led by Mrs Harold W Baker.

Assistant Attorney General Louis V. Jackvony of Providence spoke at a gathering of Loggia Principessa Elena No 476 O F d I in Academy Hall Wood Street in honor of Christopher Columbus. Jesuelo Vivenzio introduced the speaker. Accardi delivered an address. A musical program and refreshments followed.

Classes in Home Hygiene Enrollment Opens at State Street

Fourteen persons enrolled in a Home Hygiene class organized last evening at the District Nursing Association rooms on State Street by Mrs George Hughes of Warren. The class will meet on Monday evenings for 12 weeks and others may enroll next Monday evening when membership closes.

Guiteras Memorial School Dedication Planned

A meeting of the Building Committee fixed plans for the Guiteras Memorial School dedication. A date in November was anticipated, contingent on full equipment including Domestic Science and Science rooms. Rev Dr Samuel S Drury was chosen to deliver the dedicatory address.

School Committee Holds Meeting at Colt Memorial High

The School Committee met in the Colt Memorial High School library last night with full board present. Helen A Condon was elected assistant commercial teacher and Wilfred Hamill secretary pro tem while Bertram Wall was absent.

Bristol Festival Chorus Announces First Rehearsal

The Bristol Festival Chorus will hold its first rehearsal tomorrow evening in the John Post Reynolds School auditorium. Many acceptances and offers of support have been received. Thursday evening is available if needed, and organizers hope all interested singers join the initial meeting and register their names.
