Rally Day at Methodist Church Plans Sunday program

Rally Day at the State Street Methodist Church features morning and evening services with Rev Frederick Wilmot of Providence and Rev Howard P Davis of East Greenwich. The 10:00 service covers Unity. Sunday School Rally at noon. a children’s program of recitations and music. an offering for the Board of Sunday Schools. and a 7:30 rally by the Epworth League with music by Vincent Campagna and others.

Rhode Island Electrical Exposition Opens in Providence

The Rhode Island Electrical Exposition at the Rhode Island Auditorium runs daily next week from 1 to 10 pm starting October 8. It showcases farm labor saving devices, 82 booths, electrically operated toys, lectures, motion pictures, and a Clicquet Eskimos radio concert, with a fall winter style show highlighting lighting effects for clothing.

Visit of Tower Woman's Relief Corps to Soldiers' Home

Comrades of the Soldiers' Home were visited by 30 members of Tower Woman's Relief Corps No 1 Pawtucket on Wednesday. A basket lunch at 12 30 followed by an entertain ment in the northern parlor featured a flag salute a welcome address by Adjutant Farley MacKenzie remarks by Past Department Presidents Mrs Mary Nichols and Mrs Eliza Pollard songs and dances by pupils of Mrs William Seaton Pawtucket and a closing song The Star Spangled Banner Comrades received cigars tobacco fruit home made cake and candy.

Hens Rescued From Tar During Plant Fire Drill

During a National India Rubber Company fire drill two hens owned by John Callan wandered onto the plant property. Their feet stuck to the heated tar roadbed and Fire Chief John Grabert and Norman Bovay rescued them, cleaned their feet, and the drill resumed.

Harvest Festival at St Michael’s Church Oct 13

The 7th annual Harvest Festival of St Michael's Church occurs Thursday evening October 13 with services at 8 p.m. Rev Charles H Temple of St Mark's Warren will preach. Donations of fruits groceries vegetables and money go to St Elizabeth's Home Providence.
