Comrades of the Soldiers' Home were visited by 30 members of Tower Woman's Relief Corps No 1 Pawtucket on Wednesday. Hens Rescued From Tar During Plant Fire Drill
During a National India Rubber Company fire drill two hens owned by John Callan wandered onto the plant property. Their feet stuck to the heated tar roadbed and Fire Chief John Grabert and Norman Bovay rescued them, cleaned their feet, and the drill resumed.
