Storm devastates coast and shores with wrecked boats

A historic storm battered the Bristol area from Monday night through Tuesday noon, flooding Poppasquash road and undermining walls. Sailboats and rowboats were driven ashore, bath houses toppled, and tracks of rail and streetcars disrupted until late afternoon. Reports describe extensive debris, yacht Coronet’s perilous night, and Bristol harbor damage with repairs underway and limited injuries.

Social Gathering Planned at Rockwell Hall Bristol

Arrangements completed for a Bristol social gathering at Rockwell Hall on Thursday evening October 17 for members and business men. Invitations will be sent tomorrow. The Ladies Auxiliary will provide lunch and Ex Gov George H Otter of Westerly will give an address on the Association's work.

Harvest Home Festival at Trinity Church Holds 88th Annual Service

The Trinity Church Harvest Home Festival marked its 88th annual service last evening in Town Hall with large attendance from Warren and Barrington. A. Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by West and anthems by Barnby and Maunder opened the program, with St. Mark's choir aiding. Donations of fruit and groceries were displayed and a parish supper followed in the Parish house.

Woman's Baptist Foreign Missionary Society Meeting

The semi annual meeting of the Rhode Island society will be at Hirst Baptist Church Bristol on Wednesday October 16. Sessions at 10 am and 2 pm feature addresses by missionaries from Japan and India who will discuss their work. All women are cordially invited to attend.
