Bristol tests eight alarm units for civil defense system
Bristol conducted a Monday test of eight new alarms as part of a planned civil defense network replacing the old fire alarm system. The system, centered around the police station, is designed to cover about a half mile in normal days and will include loud speaker use in special situations. funds totaling 16 000 were previously appropriated for eight installations, with matching federal support pursued. further units may be added after evaluating current performance.
