John Mello and Joseph Lero and a dispute over cash receipts at a Bristol shoe repair shop in the Y M C A building escalated into a knife slash and an aluminum last strike. Mello received eight stitches for a three cornered facial wound while Lero suffered a deep lateral head laceration. Police are awaiting Mello's statement as charges are considered.
