Judge John S. McKiernan of the Superior Court barred the auto junking business of John Francis III at 3 Wall St Bristol. Cars may be dismantled only on lots 71 86 87 88, with no burning allowed. The decision restricts the site to those four lots adjacent to residential zoning.
Bernadette Boisclair, passenger in Paquette car, was thrown to the road and treated on scene for a head laceration before being taken to Pawtucket Memorial Hospital. Paquette, 52, of King Philip Ave, said she slowed but did not stop at the intersection. Charles Ferreira, 39, of Swansea, was driving north on Metacom Ave and did everything possible to avoid the collision.
Mr and Mrs Sidney Herreshoff withdrew their petition for plat acceptance covering seven half acre Griswold Ave lots after a Planning Board dispute over tying the lots to a sewer line. They argued previously they could use septic tanks with town water, but the board now requires sewer connection and water lines, a cost they say could total about $16,000, making the project unlikely for seven lots. The Herreshoffs plan to proceed with other Ferry Road land, Captain John DeWolf Farm, and await continuation on page 10.
Representatives of St Albans Lodges from across the country and Canada gather in this town for their sixth annual meeting tomorrow. A 4 pm jovial hour precedes the program with a 2 to 4 pm special meeting for reception of guests by War Leonard A Waitt WM and second section of the third degree. Ladies will meet at 2 pm for buses from St Michaels Parish House. Arthur J Genthner will toast at the banquet, followed by Masonic Youth Organization entertainment directed by Carlton Hall.
