Night schools open at Colt Memorial High School
Night schools started last evening in the Colt Memorial high school building under Miss Annie D Sisson. Enrollment totaled 90 in Evening High and 20 in Americanization classes, with 202 pupils last year in the evening program. Courses include typewriting stenography bookkeeping English drawing millinery cooking sewing and Americanization in English speaking reading and writing.

Bristol Festival Chorus Planned for Coming Season
Invitations sent to local singers to join the Bristol Festival Chorus with John B Archer as musical director. Two public concerts planned, rehearsals at John Post Reynolds School Wednesdays 8 to 9 30 pm from Oct 12. holiday break then resume first Wednesday in March for a second series and May or June concert. Aim to combine with Providence and East Greenwich Choruses for 600 voices and a $3 annual dues.

Twelfth Annual Visitation By Civil War Veterans
The twelfth annual visitation of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Rhode Island division visited the Soldiers Home on Sunday with over 500 attendees. They joined with Daughters of Union Veterans and other groups for a parade from Metacom avenue to Recreation Hall, a welcome from Commander Susan M. Sheple, a 1 PM dinner, and a flag drill by Arnold Relief Corps. The event featured a concert by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Band and honored guests including former Senator Ezra Dixon and Department Commander Christopher H. Carpenter. Each comrade received tobacco, a pipe, a small American flag, and candy baskets. arrangements were led by Ballou and a committee of officers.
