The Rhode Island State Conference of Charities and Corrections will hold its seventh annual meeting at the Hotel Belvedere Bristol on Wednesday October 20 with three sessions morning afternoon and evening. A dinner at 6 15 p m will be presided over by Prof J Q Dealey of Brown University.

Potato theft leads to fines in Fifth District Court
Francesco Fannello and Pietro Fanara were found guilty of stealing potatoes from the Sidney De Wolf farm and fined ten dollars plus costs. Clerk John L. Lonergan presided in Judge Hammill’s absence as Otis L. Wood arrested the pair. They claimed plans for a clambake. Clement Salisbury pled guilty to vagrancy and received six months at the State workhouse. Civil docket items were continued or entered as noted.

Polish wedding reveler suffers acute indigestion on State street
A Polish man about 25 collapsed on State street near the Bristol Hotel after a Polish wedding celebration. He was found by hotel owner J F McLaughlin and moved to the hotel. Dr A M Merriman treated him for acute indigestion. condition improved and recovery expected.

Favors Loan to Allies in War Support Plan
Col S. P Colt president of the United States Rubber Company advocates a loan to the Allies saying it will have a pronounced beneficial effect. Improvement Association Holds First Fall Meeting at Hotel Belvedere
Bristol Improvement Association gathered at Hotel Belvedere for its opening fall meeting. Harvest Home Festival at Trinity Church Tonight
The Harvest Home Festival and supper are planned at Trinity Church in the Parish house. Woonsocket Veterans Visitors Visit Soldiers' Home
About 50 members of the Smith Woman's Relief Corps and C. F. Gordon Camp Sons of Veterans visited the Soldiers' Home Sunday from Woonsocket. They arrived by motor bus and shared tobacco pipes and gifts amid speeches songs and recitations. A Ladies of the G A will tour the home Thursday.
