Fourthy Store Break Baffles Authorities In Wardwell Lumber Heist
Police investigated a bold burglary at Wardwell Lumber Co on Thames Street reported around 7 p m Wednesday. Two youths about 13 and 16 entered via the back window took jack knives and coins from desks and a cash register while a lighted store used an automatic switch. Witness Charles Servant identified the suspects who fled before officers arrived.

Burnside lodge No. 34 conferred the Esquire rank on a candidate at its weekly convention in Castle Hall. Four young thieves aged eight to ten broke into Archibald M. Miller’s Hope Street grocery by removing a glass pane. Candy marbles cakes cookies gum and cigars were taken. Cash drawer was emptied of money. Police captured the four youths, who had also targeted Maco Caputo’s High Street store recently.
