Board members include Mrs M Stuart Barr Miss Martha Graham and Mrs Robert M Huey. Miss Miriam W Skinner and Miss Gerrude D Drury retired after long terms of service, Skinner forty years on the board and twenty five as First Directress, Drury thirty six years with many as Second Directress. The board honored them with corsages for faithful service.

Portable stop signs eyed for school area safety plan

A notice reports portable flashing stop signs to be placed near the school area. School Superintendent Edward Fitzgerald says a safety committee meeting will be held next week to speed up securing the devices. The committee, including school board members, clergy and public officials, had delayed awaiting a supplier. Volunteers for extra supervision at crossing points were sought before school start and after dismissal.

Bristol Knights of Columbus Dinner Planned at Midway

Council 379 bristol Knights of Columbus will host a chicken and lobster dinner Tuesday evening at the Midway Steak and Lobster House from 7 30 to 9 p m. Co chairmen Joseph A Cavallaro and Salvatore Massano past grand knights announced last night. August Gibbemeyer is secretary treasurer of the committee and Frank Raiola heads the program committee.
