Water Company to Move Into Waldron Building in Bristol

Car Collision Injures Ensign Perkins and Gray at Metacom Corner
Ensign Raymond B Perkins 22 of the USS Dashiel and Ernest L Gray 34 of Fatima Drive were injured in a Wednesday morning crash at Metacom Avenue and Fatima Drive. Perkins received scalp injuries and was sent to Newport Naval Hospital after treatment by Dr. Joseph Seabra. Gray sustained cuts to the nose and face treated by Dr. Samuel D Clark. Both cars were badly damaged and towed from the scene. Four juveniles will appear at a special hearing regarding the smashing of 43 panes at Miss Marjorie Grant’s summer home. parents may be liable for the costs.

Hambrick Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross for Korea mission
First Lieutenant Henry P. Hambrick son of Col and Mrs Henry A Hambrick of 25 Byfield Street earned the Distinguished Flying Cross for service with the US Air Force in Korea. A B-29 navigator, he helped on a bombing mission said to have destroyed an enemy train. He previously served in World War II, was a POW, and later graduated from USC before rejoining the Air Force.
