Public schools plan life size tableaux for Christmas display
The Manual Arts Departments of Andrews and Guiteras schools will build life size tableaux for a Community Christmas display on the Common. The effort, led by Acting Superintendent James E. Sullivan and Chairman James A. Sisson, seeks donations, lighting, and rights for the Nativity scene and other figures, with carols planned for December 23.

New School Superintendent Expected In Bristol by January
Major Edward J. Fitzgerald is expected to assume duties as Bristol schools superintendent by mid January after discharge from the Army. Canon Anthony R. Parshley said Fitzgerald informed him in Washington last week of his plan to take over in January. Fitzgerald, former Bristol Senior High principal, was granted leave in 1942 to serve, and was elected to the post last July after Elmer S. Mapes resigned to lead Weymouth schools. Acting leadership at Guiteras Memorial School has been by James E. Sullivan with Edward J. Rinaldi as acting principal.

Canvass crews reporting Sunday sales of 21275 dollars against a 21000 dollar town quota. Colt Triumphs Over Barrington For Suburban Title
Colt Memorial won 6-0 at Vic tory Field in Barrington to claim the Suburban Division Rhode Island Interscholastic League championship. Bernardo’s 30 yard pass from Fran Velleca set up the score with a 10 yard run for Colt. Barrington threatened late but couldn’t convert, and Colt completed an undefeated seven win season with one tie and two defeats in league play.

Binoculars with War Fame Return to Boston Figure
A pair of expensive naval binoculars owned by Mrs. Vonnie Rhee and once used by Captain Joseph A. Gainard on the USS Big Horn were sent back to Bill Cunningham after a long voyage through WWII campaigns.
