John Souza 28, a Mt St Josephs Convent caretaker, rescued Carmine Bianco 30 and Stanley Bowron 33 when a 11 foot skiff foundered off Ferry Road during a severe southeast storm. The pair reached shore after a harrowing struggle, aided by blankets, hot coffee, and medical care. Bowron's wife arrived to relief as police and locals watched.
