Bristol Guiteras Memorial School Dedicated in Bristol

Bristol's Guiteras Memorial School was dedicated Tuesday evening. Dr Ramon Guiteras pledged a gift totaling $298,817.33 with a maintenance fund of $30,000 and interest of about $97,000 to date. The event featured speeches, a 14-piece orchestra, 84-member chorus, and a formal cornerstone laying.

Mount Hope Toll Bridge Contract Turned Over

Governor Pothier appoints Attorney General Sisson and Bank Commissioner Newhall to Mount Hope Bridge Corporation board during construction. A single contractor will be chosen next Tuesday to build the span between this town and Portsmouth with a July 1 1929 open date and daily penalties or bonuses tied to timely completion.

YMCA Board Meeting Notes Welfare Talks and Mat Purchase

General Secretary Earle H Hob son reported a year over year financial rise across departments at the YMCA Board of Managers meeting. The board approved buying a wrestling mat for the gym and sent thanks to the Ladies' Committee for $101.70 raised for the mat. A delegate was to be sent to the YMCA convention in Boston on December 12.

Olympian Club elects John Reposa president at Monday meeting

John Reposa was elected President of the Olympian Club formerly the Employed Boys at a Monday meeting. Other officers include Manuel Perreira as Nice President, Borges as Secretary, Manuel Correia as Treasurer, and committees for Social Athletic and Directors with John Marshall Frank Sousa John Ponte and others. A supper planned for Nov 30 supports the athletic fund. A squad from the club attended a Providence YMCA demonstration game directed by Rov W Howard.

Grade Teachers Elect Miss Molasky Bristol Association President

Miss Jessie Molasky was elected President of the Bristol Grade Teachers Association at the annual meeting held Tuesday afternoon in the John Post Reynolds school auditorium. New officers include Vice President Miss Margaret Ferone Secretary Miss Alice Murphy Treasurer Miss Mary Fekinsella and Executive Committee members Mrs Stephen W Hopkins Miss Cathleen Barton and Miss Fliza M Usher. The group invited faculties of Cal teras Memorial School to join and attend future meetings.
