Buss Line Begins Operations on Bristol Providence Route

A new motor bus service by White Automobile Company started Sunday between Bristol and Providence replacing electric cars. Buses run from Wood and Burton streets with half hour headways until late evening, carrying many passengers despite poor weather. Some drivers are former electric motormen, and through-service to Providence is being considered by town officials.

Thanksgiving Day Post Office Schedule Announcement

Thanksgiving at P. D. obverse regular holiday schedule observed. No deliveries or carrier collections. Money Order and Postal Savings closed all day. Lobby open to 8 pm for box holders. Last inward mail at 8 am, outward mail by 9 am. Postmaster asks customers to notify the day before to have mail set aside for pickup.

Thanksgiving Day services are scheduled at multiple churches. St Michael’s holds Holy Communion at 8 am, morning prayer and sermon at 9 30. Trinity offers Holy Communion at 7 30 and a song celebration at 9. St Mary’s has masses at 6 45 and 8. Hope Circle attends at 8 and 9. St Elizabeth’s masses at 8 and 9. Our Lady of Mount Carmel mass at 8 20. No special services at First Baptist, First Congregational, or State Street Churches.

Bristol Senate and House Winners Announced After Count

The State Returning Board confirmed William H Thayer as Senator for Bristol by 80 votes over Daniel W Coggeshall. Thomas H Byrnes won the First District Representative seat by 298 over Mrs. Hammill, and Earl H McKenzie took the Second District seat by 272 over C J Hasbrouck. Coggeshall protested Thayer’s win over ballot delays.

Bristol Knights of Columbus Bazaar Concludes After Three Nights

The third annual bazaar of Bristol Council No. 379 Knights of Columbus at the K of C Home on State street ended Saturday evening. Large crowds each night enjoyed suppers and a well patronized booth selection. A women’s committee aided by Hope Circle No. 70 Daughters of Isabella managed the suppers with Dwyer’s Orchestra providing music for dancing in the assembly hall.
