Town Council approves sewer and street plans with rail notice

At a semi monthly meeting Town Engineer H S Jewell reported Thames street road work finished and urged NYNH & Hartford R R to resume service to Constitution street terminal. The council backed Mount Hope avenue sewer and water cooperation and approved pipeline plans and miscellaneous licenses and transfers.

Red Cross Begins Seventh Annual Roll Call in Town

The American Red Cross starts its seventh annual roll call with a house to house canvass across 19 districts led by captains and assistants. Headquarters are in the Federal building, and Red Cross workers will staff the Post Office lobby daily through Thanksgiving for those not interviewed at home.

Thanksgiving Eve Dance at Hotel Belvedere by Hope Circle

The largest social event of the year is planned for Thanksgiving Eve at the Hotel Belvedere Sun Parlor. Hope Circle No 70 Daughters of Isabella presents the occasion with Tos feature by Jeffery's Society Orchestra of Pawtucket. Local committee includes Misses Winifred Walsh Mae McDonough Eva Vermette Bessie Pierce Elizabeth Walsh.

Miss Georgiana Perry to Wed Frank Brown in Thanksgiving Wedding

A shower at Miss Mary Wests home 67 Burton Street honored Miss Georgiana Perry on the eve of her marriage to Frank Brown of this town. About 40 guests attended as the bride entered to rose petals from a bell while Miss Mary Barry played the wedding march. The evening featured vocal and instrumental selections an exhibition dance by Miss Helen Moniz of Warren and a buffet lunch hosted by Miss West assisted by Moniz and Eva Vergeau. Guests came from Warren Barrington and this town.

Fifteenth Bristol Poultry Show Draws Record Attendance

The Bristol County Poultry Association exhibition at Grand Army Hall ends tonight after drawing larger attendance and more exhibits than prior years. Prizes awarded Wednesday include top honors for Barred Plymouth Rocks, White Plymouth Rocks, White Wyandottes, S C Red Rhode Island Reds, and other breeds with winners from farms and individuals such as Juniper Farm, Foster Brothers, Hilltop Farm, and Dr Howard W Church. The judging panel featured A W Mowill, F G Cook, and Clarence E Brett.

Church Notes Advent Sunday Service and Music

Sunday next before Advent schedule includes Holy Communion at 8 a.m. Morning Prayer and sermon at 10 30 a.m. Church School at noon. Monthly musical service at 7 30 p.m. with vested choir performing a full program including organ preludes and anthems and a baritone solo.

Obituary of Louis G. da Costa

Louis G. da Costa died at his home 153 Mount Hope avenue from pneumonia at 4 PM. Born in the Azores 42 years ago he had lived here 20 years and once ran a Mount Hope avenue grocery. He is survived by his wife and one son. Funeral at 9 AM tomorrow at St Elizabeths Church with burial at St Marys Cemetery.
