Motorcycle Operator in Fatality Before Court

Fred H. Lawrence of Warren pleaded guilty in the Fifth District Court to operating a motorcycle so as to endanger life and limb, with a fatality attributed to James W. Meiggs. A second charge related to Meiggs’s death was continued for a week. Other defendants faced various charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a pistol without a license, with cases also set for early December.

Bristol Man Fined $250 For Possession of Liquor

In the United States District Court in Providence on Friday Joseph M Brigida of 76 Wand Street pleaded guilty to possessing 71 bottles of home brew and two pints of liquor at 410 Wood Street. He was fined 250 dollars.

Probate Court Affirms Minor Guardianship and Estate Actions

At the semi monthly session Judge Edward L Leahy disposed matters on estates including Manuel Raposa as administrator of Julia S Raposa and authorization to sell minors interests on Constitution Street and Metacom Avenue. Guardianship for Lena Raposa and Leah B Young was addressed with sales and allowances set for December 1 along with conservator inventories for Alice A Herreshoff.

Needy Clothing Drive Supported by Congregational Club

Members of the Congregational Club prepare donated garments and shoes for the needy. The Good Will Industry, led by Mrs Filmer Manley, will repair the items with help from Mrs Mantes and several volunteers, continuing collections for men women and children.

Preliminary Zoning Plans for Bristol Received

An executive committee of the town zoning panel will meet next Monday evening to review a draft zoning map classifying Bristol into residential manufacturing business tenement and other districts. Judge Edward L Leahy chairs the committee and Robert Whitten the New York zoning expert prepared the draft and is expected to attend.

Red Cross Roll Call Campaign Extended in Bristol

Bristol Red Cross extends membership drive due to five days of bad weather. Miss Gertrude Hasbrouth says 494 responses so far, with 776 last year, and notes 2000 was hoped. District Nurses Slightly Injured in Auto Collision

Annual Roll Call of Pythian Sisters at Edgehill Temple
