Bristol Council of Defense plans unannounced daylight and blackout tests
The Bristol Council of Defense announced next week as part of NE air raid drill prep two unannounced daylight tests to occur Monday to Wednesday and two blackout tests on Thursday and Friday evenings. Tests are mobilization drills with no incidents. Wardens, auxiliary firemen, police, and rescue squads will report for duty.

Two Bristol Boys Awarded Soldiers Medal for Heroism
Privates Henry W. Arouca and Virgin S. Sousa of Battery C 243rd RGNG Bristol were honored for rescuing the Navy plane crew after a crash off Beaver Tail Light in Narragansett Bay on September 4 1942.
