Collision at Hope and State Streets injures no one
A collision between Dupont's Express truck driven by Joseph C. Silvia Jr. and a car driven by Silvia O Curtis at Hope and State streets caused damage to both vehicles. Curtis, from Providence, says he did not see the stop sign and was summoned to Fifth District Court on Monday.

Coffee Retailers In Rhode Island Told To Apply For Bulletin
Rhode Island coffee retailers were told by Rationing Director Raymond B. Littlefield to apply at local Rationing Boards on Friday November 20 or Saturday November 21 before 12 30 to receive Retailers Bulletin No 5 outlining obligations under the Coffee Rationing Program. The bulletin explains self registration and the retailer’s role starting November 21. Coffee rationing for consumers begins November 29 with a one week store suspension to replenish stocks. Stamps 27 28 25 26 in books will be used for the first period with Stamp No 27 allowing one pound of coffee.

Lt Joseph F Bullock son of Joseph Bullock 15 Gooding Lane recently graduated from Officers Candidate Tank Destroyer School Camp Hood Texas as a 2nd Lieut and returns as an instructor after a ten day furlough awaiting further assignment He is accompanied by his wife who plans two weeks at Temple Texas near Camp Hood Bullock was educated in local schools and enlisted in 1940 He served at Fort Bragg in the Radio Signal Communications School promoted to Technical Corporal then Technical Sergeant and later to Staff Sergeant at Fort Sill Oklahoma before being assigned to Fort Bragg and selected for Officers Candidates School where he earned commission as 2nd Lieut.
