School committee weighs nursery school for children

The School Committee discussed establishing a nursery school for children aged two to six to cover mothers entering industrial work. Altar Society Plans Rummage Sale at Levy's Store

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Altar Society discussed a rummage sale planned for Tuesday November 17 at Levy's Store on State Street. They also talked about the annual Christmas party with no firm plans. Bristol Boys to Receive Christmas Bundles

565 Bristol boys will receive boxes from the Christmas Bundles for Boys Fund. About 145 boxes go to boys overseas or at bases in New York and San Francisco. Treasurer Hubert F Hill said roughly 150 boys may miss out because no addresses were submitted.

Tri-Hi-Y Club Plans Two Holiday Programs

The Tri-Hi-Y Club outlined a Thanksgiving gathering for November 18 and a Christmas Party for December 19. New members Kathleen Brito and Bertha St Angelo were admitted. The meeting featured a quiz contest in which Brenda Levy’s team beat Mary Miranda’s 19 to 16, with Lydia Diaz quiz master and Betty West score keeper.

Capt Paul A Herzig head of Bris tol Rationing and War Price Board announces periodic tire inspections for all autos to ensure tire wear and quantity do not exceed limits. Fees vary by tire size if removal is required, with initial nominal charge up to 25 cents per vehicle. Passenger bikes and commercial fleets face specific inspection windows from Nov 22 to Jan 31 1943 and Nov 15 to Jan 15 1943 respectively. applications available at local gas stations.
