Janitors Win Traffic Duties For Bristol Schools

Bristol Town Council assigns janitors from Oliver Walley and Reynolds schools as special constables to direct school traffic. Clothes Drive Aimed At Overseas Relief By Bristol Group

Mrs. John W. DeWolf Jr head of St. Michael’s Church Women’s Benevolent Society announced a clothing collection for overseas relief in Bristol. A barrel at the church doorway invites donations, sent to the Overseas Relief Center in Providence for sorting and baling. Bristol Townies meet Warren Townies next Tuesday night at Guiteras Field to defend their 1946 Bristol County title in a key noonturnal clash amid high hopes and rival aims.

The Anthony C. Almeida Post VFW Auxiliary met November 4 at president Helen D. Williams home. They plan a bridge and whist event on November 14 at St. Michael's Parish House to aid the post and will assemble Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for worthy families. Armistice Day Activities Slated Across Towns

Armistice Day will be marked with memorial services at 8 p.m. at the American Legion Home Franklin Street and a 3 p.m. tree dedicatory program after a parade. The Bristol Legion banquet follows at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion Home. Knights of Columbus attend Mass at St. Mary’s Church at 9 a.m. A Bristol County Championship football game features the Bristol Town Team vs Warren Townies at Guiteras Field at 8 p.m. The Kearney Post 86 Armistice Memorial Exercises are set for 8 p.m. with a full program, and a banquet at 6:30 p.m. features speaker Captain Richard W. Bates. The evening includes bugle calls, choir selections, and a candle-lit service. An Odd Fellows tree dedication at Kade Island Bristol occurs at 3 p.m. with parade and dinner later in the day.
