Bristol Community Service Discusses New Playgrounds
The Bristol Community Service board met with Miss Ruth Sherburne of the Playground and Recreation Association of America. She urged at least three playgrounds, proposed sites near Collins Street and the National India Rubber Company, and a kindergarten park on Thames Street. Swings slides and sand boxes were favored with fountains and comfort stations. A winter dyke between Mt Hope Avenue and the reservoir could create a 300 by 300 foot skating park costing about 300 dollars.
