Serious Automobile Accident Injures Teenager Near Lawless Pier
Ralph Kinder, 17, son of Mr and Mrs Samuel Kinder, was seriously injured in an auto accident on Hope Street near Lawless Pier. His Ford delivery crashed onto the embankment and rolled, dumping him. He suffered a severe pelvic injury and a head wound, was treated by doctors, and taken to Rhode Island Hospital for X ray evaluation.

Strike at National India Rubber Plant Shuts Down Major Section
About 1000 plant workers in the pump room of National India Rubber Company quit work yesterday over wage disputes. A 10 member committee met manager George Schlosser, seeking raises up to 40 percent for various footwear lines, but no agreement was reached. By 5 pm the plant except the wire department was closed indefinitely, affecting roughly 2400 workers across the facility.
