Striking crowds assault Bristol factories halting work

A large crowd of about 1200 strikers rushed the Narragansett Rubber Company plant and disrupted 700 workers, closing both Narragansett and National India Rubber plants indefinitely. The shoe plant of National India Rubber remains idle with 3500 workers out, as pay increases were rejected and a labor agitator influenced the outcome. Local authorities and guards were discussed for protection.

B Y P U Meeting Discusses Plans and Thanks

The Baptist Young People's Union held a Sunday evening meeting at 6 30 led by president Alton H Barrett. Reports by Secretary and Treasurer show solid finances and plans for the coming year. A letter of thanks to an Interested Phoenix Reader for a recent donation was approved. Rev John Stewart spoke on the Northern Baptist Convention. An executive committee meeting is set for next Sunday at 6 in the vestry with all officers urged to attend.
