Relief Housing Setback Halts Veterans Project in Bristol
The Bristol Veterans Housing Relief Committee learned the Federal Public Housing Administration has run out of funds, delaying a $40,000 temporary housing plan. Chairman Ralph M. DeLeo said a possible future appropriation could revive efforts. The Town Council required taxpayer approval before proceeding, and about 60 local families had shown interest in the project.

Louis Ascoh of the New Highland Casino on Hope Street discovered that 25 to 30 cases of choice whiskies were stolen after three storerooms were forced open. Entry was gained by smashing a window pane on the east side. Police note a cruiser passed at 2:35 am and finger prints were sought by Edward J. McDermott of the State Bureau of Criminal Identification.

Sixth Son Of Armillotto Enlists In U S Navy
Gaetano Angelo Armillotto enlisted in the regular Navy at the Providence recruiting station. He is the sixth son of Mr and Mrs Paul Armillotto of 20 Ryan Avenue to serve, joining brothers Larry and Vincent in the U S Army. McKay Protests Flag Decoration Method This Memorial Day
Memorial Day chairman Robert J. McKay criticized the way flags were placed on soldier graves this year. He faulted Commandant Chester W. Williams for distributing 1000 flags to North Cemetery and St. Marys Cemetery while many graves remained unadorned.
