Brothers Bottomley Join 112th Machine Gun Battalion
Joseph M Bottomley and his brother William A Bottomley have joined the 112th Machine Gun Battalion of the 29th Division, a Virginia National Guard unit known as the Blue and Gray Division. Joe serves in Company D and Bill in Company A. addresses to be sent via American Expeditionary Forces. The heat in Alabama makes overseas deployment appealing to the soldiers.

Memorial Day Service Held At First Congregational Church
A large audience attended a Memorial Day service in the chapel of the First Congregational Church honoring President Whison's proclamation. Rev. J. E. Whitley presided with remarks from A. B. Howard and several pastors. A loyalty resolution was adopted and a $22.46 offering was designated for the Bristol Auxiliary of the Red Cross.

Superior Court session notes two trials Bristol County
In the spring session at Bristol County Court House on Monday and Tuesday, Terisa Larisa sued Eben ezer Tiffany Barrington Town Treasurer. The jury awarded $300 to Mrs. Larisa for injuries from a defective manhole and $175 to her husband Carlo for loss of services. The court adjourned at 4 PM Wednesday.
