Funeral services for LeBaron Carleton Colt were held at his Smith Street home with a guarded escort of about 100 National India Rubber Company officials. School Committee backs away from Advent Church site purchase
A Friday meeting of the Byfield School Committee debated buying the old Advent Church building near the proposed new school site on High street. Superintendent Minard had arranged an option with a real estate agent who later kept the option, then offered to sell to the committee. The committee chose to take no action on the purchase.
