Prepared Bristol Parade Aims For Providence Tomorrow

Bristol enrollment nears fifty thousand for Rhode Island Preparedness Parade in Providence. Col. L H Callan sets 3 15 pm for Bristol division on Sabin street near Exchange street with a 2 pm train from Franklin street. Organizers plan careful formation twelve per platoon and 15 feet spacing, women at rear, Bristol band to lead, and units marching to depot in orderly sequence.

Memorial Day Honors by G A R in Town Observances

Memorial Day services by Babbitt Post No 15 G A R and affiliated groups occurred across town under cloudy skies with showers. The procession moved from Head Quarters to North Cemetery and Juniper Hill then to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument for speeches readings, a Logan order, and a rousing address by Comrade John Holton.

Preparedness Coins to Enter Circulation After July

Secretary McAdoo announced the United States will issue Preparedness coins soon after July 1. The 25-cent piece joins newly designed 10-cent and half-dollar pieces. Changes follow a law allowing alterations every twenty five years, twenty five years after the last update.

Y. M. C. A. Boys Hike and Beach Cookout Contest

A group of Y M C A boys will hike to the beach Saturday morning meeting at 8 30 at the Y M C A. Each boy should bring lunch items for cooking breakfast bacon eggs potatoes and frankfurters as a fire building and cooking contest unfolds with the best meal using the fewest utensils.
