Bristol to spray elm and chestnut trees with state aid
A town meeting approved a $1000 appropriation to spray elm and horse chestnut trees with lead arsenate using a state supplied spraying machine and operator. Samuel Kinder will oversee the work with three local climbers, starting on Hope street near the Town Bridge and moving through the Common as funds permit. Citizens are urged to contribute to cover labor costs for fronting premises, and the State, via Rep. Hammill, provides part of the elm beetle program within a $7000 insects-on-trees budget for the year.
