Monument Restored After Hurricane Toppled It
Bristol marks the return of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument placed on its base after a hurricane toppled it last September. Charles Olsen led the Gorham Mfg crew that reerected the 9 foot high figures weighing 3000 pounds each, with the 50 ton granite boulder base restored at the Burnside Memorial Building lawn.

Two Brothers and Another Soldier Return From German Camps
The Hambrick and Noronha families report liberation and return of loved ones from German POW camps. Second Lieut Henry Hambrick USAF was freed after being missing since March 25 1945, with prior service at Hondo AAF and Colt Memorial High School graduate. Pvt Andrew H Noronha formerly missing since September 11 1943 is believed captured at Salerno and wrote May 4 confirming no longer a prisoner.
