Memorial Day G A R Program at Bristol 1928

Special orders call for Babbitt Post No 15 G A R to assemble May 27 at 7 PM at G A R Hall for divine worship at First Baptist Church at 7 30 PM. Veterans urged to attend in uniform with badge and white gloves. Juniors sign as organizers.

Memorial Day Observance Parade Adds Many Groups

Special order calls Babbitt Post 15 and invited units to assemble May 30 1928 at 9 am in full uniform or dark attire. The procession under Chief Marshal Henry H Bullock features Scouts Girl Scouts Boys and Veterans groups marching via Hope Street to North Cemetery for services including Lincoln Gettysburg Address and wreaths, with bells taps and benediction.

Naturalization Court Opens For Citizens Papers In Bristol

A Bristol County Superior Court session next Monday May 28 will offer aliens a chance to apply for citizenship papers at the Bristol County Court House. Applicants with prior papers must meet residence and witness requirements. post June 29 1906 arrivals require a landing certificate first. Married women may rely on their citizen husbands for status but must still apply themselves if necessary. Those seeking final papers should avoid arriving before noon.

U S Rubber Club of Rhode Island Holds Social Meeting

The U S Rubber Club of Rhode Island met at the Arcadia Providence with 330 members including Rhode Island and Millville Mass employees. Cyrus Ching of New York spoke on industrial relations and the company’s fair dealings. Five boxing bouts entertained attendees before adjournment at 11 15 pm with a buffet lunch.

Girls perform calisthenics at Soldiers' Home program

Veterans at the Soldiers' Home enjoyed a calisthenic drill by 18 girls from the Guiteras Memorial School led by Miss Leste Beoker as part of a program by Babbitt Woman's Relief Corps. Readings by Mrs. Addie Gale, vocal numbers by Mrs. Floyd Huestis, and piano by Mrs. Luella Ryone concluded the event, with a large May basket of cake, candy and fruit for the comrades.
