Kearney Ship to Play Major Part in Jammboree
Kearney Unit Sea Scouts of Bristol to demonstrate boat repair and rigging at Cranston Stadium on May 27 during the annual Boy Scout Jamboree. Two crews under Skipper Arthur J Belmore will run the work while Bristol ship aids in grand entry and seating for about 5000 scouts and leaders under Commissioner O Reid Le Clair and Sea Scout Director C Raymond Westcott.

Civic League selects judges for Cotton Ball gowns

Nine contestants vie for the Miss Bristol crown during the Cup Defenders celebration week starting June 5. Main prize is a $10 trip to the New York World's Fair. runner-up wins a wrist watch and third place receives an onyx diamond ring.
