Hold On To It Bristol Water Stock Says Town Leader

The Bristol town should retain its one fifth stake in the Bristol County Water Company rather than sell to chase a few extra dollars. The stock yields about three and a half percent, a fair return, and the town as a minority shareholder can protect its investment and ensure vital water service. The stock was given by Samuel P. Colt to maintain town-company ties, and the current benefit of holding outweighs the possible gain from selling even as conditions change.
