The Burnside Memorial Building council approved Everett LeB. Church as chairman for his 12th term. Robert J. McKay became vice chairman with John G. Stewart as secretary. Officials invited include Senators Metcalf and Hebert and Representatives Burdick Aldrich and Condon to attend the parade and events. A battleship assignment in Bristol harbor was sought from the Navy. Weekly Friday meetings were set leading up to the observance.

Injured at High School Ball Game Friday
At the Colt High versus Burrillville High baseball game Friday afternoon two spectators were injured. Bruce Matheson, Colt High sophomore, fell from a bench and cut his scalp. Albano Vasconcellos, 35, of 18 Congregational Street, was struck on the right cheek by a thrown ball causing a cheekbone fracture. attended by Dr. John R. Bernardo.

Shooters vie for U S Rifle Team at June selection
The United States small bore rifle team to contest Bisley England on July 10 will be chosen at a June 1 meeting of the team committee in Washington D C. Hundreds of .22 caliber shooters compete in 50 regional tryouts in May as the nine corps areas seek at least one representative. The 22 caliber team, sponsored by the National Rifle Association and the National Board for Promotion of Rifle Practice, sails from New York June 24 for the July 16 return, marking the first such international shoulder-to-shoulder match for the U S.

First Communion Class at Mount Carmel Church

Memorial Day Parade Chief Marshal Named for Memorial Day

The Bristol Colt High School Alumni Association hosted a Friday Victory Dance in the Colt High School auditorium honoring 1930s scholastic athletic and musical champions. Over 200 attendees included faculty, officials, Rotary and Lions members, with Principal Fitzgerald presenting Rhode Island Honor Society certificates and medals to 11 senior recipients. The Paramount Orchestra conducted by Mrs. Lucian Capone provided music, and future awards for the orchestra and athletic squads were announced.

British Veterans To Hold Annual Memorial Service
The British Veterans Association of Rhode Island will hold its 33rd memorial service at the Cathedral of St John in Providence on Sunday morning June 21 1931. Ex service men and Association members in uniform will assemble at the Benefit Street Arsenal at 10 am for a brief parade through Benefit and Waterman streets then return to the cathedral for church services and a concluding procession to the Arsenal for refreshments.

Boy Struck By Auto Severely Injured
A 12 year old boy, Joseph Ponte, of 58 Constitution Street, is in critical condition at St Joseph's Hospital Providence after being struck by a car on Hope Street near Court Street yesterday afternoon. The driver, Anna F Josephs of 36 First School Street, reportedly hit him as he ran from the sidewalk. he suffered a skull fracture, facial contusions, and minor bruises. He received first aid from Dr John R Bernardo before hospital transport.

Friday and Saturday Poppy Days Aid Disabled Veterans
The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and young helpers sell poppies to benefit disabled World War veterans. Poppies are made by ex servicemen in hospitals, with proceeds supporting living veterans and honoring those who served. We are urged to buy to support those still contributing to the country and remember the fallen.
